He graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 1987 and has served in various roles of leadership of national, regional and local youth ministry ever since. He is a dynamic and passionate speaker and has a great love for young people. He has built solid and thriving youth ministry programs in several parishes over the years. Jim is the Director of Youth Leadership and Evangelization for the Augustine Institute in Denver. He also directs the work of ImpactCenter and YDisciple, both of which are based at the AI.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Always a pleasure, Mike unpacks a simple but powerful concept centered on the letters PRAY.]]></description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mike Patin uses energy, humor and stories to affirm the goodness of God&#8217;s presence among us while inviting others (and himself) to take the &#8220;next step&#8221; in our journey with God.</p>
<p>Mike has had the privilege of speaking in over 115 dioceses in the U.S. and Canada, to groups ranging from 10 to 10,000. He has addressed youth, adult and intergenerational (family) audiences in diocesan, regional, national and international settings. He has led youth and adult retreats, parish missions, leadership institutes, and in-services. Audiences have been as diverse as clergy, school faculties, businesses, athletic teams and hospital staffs.</p>
<p>Mike has worked with teenagers and adults in a variety of settings since 1984. He has experience in the high school setting (six years), and thirteen years in diocesan youth ministry (CYO/Youth Ministry Office for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, 1990-2003). Since 2003, he has worked full time as a speaker and “faith horticulturist.”</p>
<p>Mike holds a Masters degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University of the South in New Orleans. He also has received a Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies from the Center for Ministry Development and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Pastoral Life and Administration from Loyola University.</p>
<p>Mike is a trained facilitator for Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Notre Dame Graduate School of Theology in New Orleans, as well as the National Center for Catholic Youth Sports. He has been a trainer for the Center for Ministry Development’s YouthLeader program. He served on the Board of Directors of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry. He served as a consultant/assistant coach to Loyola University (New Orleans) women’s basketball team (2003-2005) and served as editor for the Our Life section of DisciplesNow, a website for Catholic teens (2003-2006). Mike is a member of NACYML (National Association of Catholic Youth Ministry Leaders).</p>
<p>In 2006, he received the National Catholic Youth Ministry Award.</p>
<p>Mike Patin lives in Lafayette, LA, with his wife, Marlene, and his daughter, Megan.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Charlotte unpack her personal journey towards professional ministry, and draws strong implications for all of us.]]></description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana, she currently resides in Baton Rouge, LA. Dr. Charlotte McCorquodale completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at McNeese State University in 1985. She completed her Masters degree in religious education (MRE) from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas in 1988. Charlotte received a doctorate Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) from the School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development at Louisiana State University. Her dissertation title was The Emergence of Lay Ecclesial Youth Ministry as a Profession within the Roman Catholic Church in the United States. She has continued research on the field of youth ministry through various studies of youth and adults.</p>
<p>Charlotte holds national certificates in youth ministry, e-learning design, and online education. Her recognitions include receiving the 2002 National Youth Ministry Award from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM ) for contributions nationally to the field of Catholic Youth Ministry. Her professional career in Catholic youth ministry has spanned three decades serving in parish, school, diocesan, and university ministry settings for the past 30 years.</p>
<p>Since May of 2000, she has served as President of Ministry Training Source (MTS). MTS is a non-profit organization committed to the formation of ministry leaders by providing customized ministry formation solutions using the latest research and technology. Presently, Dr. McCorquodale is an international educator, researcher, and consultant for the fields of lay ecclesial ministry, certification standards and processes, youth ministry, and e-learning.</p>
<p>Dr. McCorquodale is committed to advancing the competence and professionalism of lay ecclesial ministers within the Church by contributing her time to various boards and committees. These include being:</p>
<ul>
<li>A lay Consultant to the USCCB Committee for Laity, Marriage, Family Life, and Youth (2007-10,)</li>
<li>Past Member and Chair of the Board Director for the NFCYM (1990-96)</li>
<li>Has served on NFCYM Commission on Certification and Accreditation since 1988</li>
<li>Board member for the USCCB Commission on Certification and Accreditation (1991-96)</li>
<li>A member of three different national writing committee’s for National Standards for Lay Ecclesial Ministers between 1989 and 2011, and</li>
<li>The current Chair of the National Association of Catholic Youth Ministry Leaders, Leadership Team.</li>
